Zayn Malik has kicked off his mini residency in Las Vegas, helming an intimate show for fans at Dolby Live at Park MGM on Tuesday night (Jan. 20) with a setlist that included both unreleased tracks and old favorites.

Taking the stage in an old-fashioned army-style jacket with epaulettes and light-wash jeans, the former boy bander flashed grateful smiles in between soulful numbers. Any One Direction stans in the audience might have been slightly disappointed that none of the group’s hits were on the setlist, but Malik more than made up for it with the amount of new tracks he premiered for them Monday.

“I’ve been in the studio a little bit,” he said at one point, according to Variety. “I got a new record coming for you guys pretty soon. I’m really excited about that … I’ll be playing some songs tonight for the first time. For you guys.”

Malik last dropped an album in 2024, with that year’s Room Under the Stairs peaking at No. 15 on the Billboard 200. He’s released a total of four solo LPs, all of which — including No. 1 debut Mind of Mine — charted on the U.S. tally.

To celebrate his career thus far, Malik will stay in Sin City through the end of the month. By February, he’ll have played seven shows at the Vegas venue, a stint his team described as “only the beginning of what will be a massive year for Zayn as he gears up for his next chapter” in a September announcement of the residency.
