Eurovision will return for its 70th Song Contest in May, and right now, we’re still not sure who will be sent to represent Australia in 2026. We do know for sure that it won’t be Dami Im, though. And she has somebody else in mind…
This year marks ten years since Dami Im represented Australia at Eurovision, where she performed her song Sound of Silence – written by Anthony Egizii and David Musumeci of DNA Songs. The track came second at the 2016 competition in Sweden, receiving a total of 511 points.
Ten years later, it seems Eurovision fans have been lobbying for Im to return to the stage – this time in Austria – to represent Australia once more.
However, in a statement posted on Instagram, Im confirmed she would not perform at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest as she has her hands full with her baby, Rory. She also revealed her plans to celebrate the tenth anniversary of Sound of Silence and that her pick to represent Australia at Eurovision is Delta Goodrem.
“Spoiler alert…you can rule me out I’ve got my hands full with my baby Rory,” Im wrote.
“But I will be celebrating my 10 year Eurovision anniversary with a very special release of Sound of Silence featuring the phenomenal Electric Fields… It’s out Wednesday March 11 marking 10 years to the day it was originally released.”
She continued, “I’m excited for this year’s Eurovision and would love to see Delta there representing Australia. Who do you want to see represent us?”
In a 2025 interview with The Sun, Delta Goodrem indicated that she was indeed interested in representing Australia at Eurovision.
“Of course I would do Eurovision. I love it,” she said. “I’ve got my thoughts on what I would do if I was competing, for sure.”

Goodrem added that she’s “obsessed” with the annual Song Contest and flew to London to watch previous semi-finals. She also expressed admiration for the “creativity” and “amazing talents” each year.
Swiss singer Nemo won last year’s Eurovision Song Contest. Australian singer Go-Jo made it to the 2025 semi-final, but didn’t reach the epic final.
Upon the announcement that he’d represent Australia at last year’s Song Contest, Go-Jo said, “It’s an absolute dream come true to represent such a beautiful and diverse nation, and I’ve never been more excited to share my art and vision with the incredible Eurovision fans around the world!”
