TISM Announce 2026 Melbourne Headline Performance

Melbourne’s masked musical mirthmakers TISM have today announced a hometown headline show – their first since 2024.

Set to take place on Saturday, May 2nd, the group’s latest gig will see the band heading to PICA in Port Melbourne, with the show described as a “one-off show not to be performed anywhere else.”

The gig will take place just weeks after TISM’s first-ever performances at the Sydney Opera House, where they will play through their breakthrough 1995 album, Machiavelli And The Four Seasons in full. Originally announcing a one-off performance for April 10th, massive demand necessitated a second show added for April 12th.

Originally issued on May 1st, 1995, Machiavelli And The Four Seasons was TISM’s third full-length record, and served as their commercial breakthrough. Arriving after two studio albums and a handful of EPs, the record harnessed a unique blend of electronic music and pub rock, with the group’s subversive nature and satirical lyrics caught the attention of the Australian music public.

The latest performance – the band’s first Melbourne date since they appeared at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl in 2024 as part of their Death To Art tour – comes following a few days of speculation in the TISM fanbase, which also requested feedback from fans about which Melbourne venue the band should perform at.

“Many venues were suggested,” read a message from the band’s mailing list, “But it’s NOT your nan’s living room at the Long Island Retirement Village in Seaforth.”

Dubbed Wankers Of The World, Unite!, the gig is also accompanied by a poster which seems to lean into the band’s 1990 Hot Dogma era, though there’s no confirmation or information relating to whether there will be any focus on that record.

Tickets to the show will go on sale from 11am AEDT on Friday, February 13th, with a pre-sale launching at 11am AEDT on Wednesday, February 11th.
