Noah Kahan is kicking off “The Great Divide Tour” by offering fans a chance to get “front porch” seats for just $100 ahead of the general onsale. But a partnership with Ticketmaster could put the biggest damper on scalper resales.
Alternative rock singer-songwriter Noah Kahan announced his “The Great Divide Tour” on February 2nd, with the general onsale kicking off on Thursday, February 12th. Now, fans have the chance to snag some affordable “front porch” tickets during the presale today.
According to Kahan, the tickets are for the general admission pit in front of the stage, and he wanted fans to be able to experience the “best seats in the house” for just $100. But a serious limitation imposed by Ticketmaster will be closely watched.
“To make sure fans have the best opportunity at original ticket prices, the tour will be using Ticketmaster’s Face Value Exchange,” reads a post on Kahan’s website.
“Tickets will be non-transferable and can only be resold at face value on Ticketmaster. In New York, Colorado, Illinois, and Utah, state laws don’t let artists fully control resale so tickets can be transferred. But even then, prices will remain at face value. Nothing is perfect, but we’re doing what we can to help protect against scalpers and keep tickets in fans’ hands.”
It’s worth noting that fans need to register for the presale to get a unique code with which to purchase ‘front porch’ seats. But those who missed out on the registration can still find discounts and sales ahead of the general on-sale tomorrow.
Noah Kahan’s “The Great Divide Tour” will hit 23 cities across North America, starting on June 11. The artist recently earned his first #1 hit on Billboard’s Hot Rock & Alternative Songs Chart with his latest single, “The Great Divide.” The album of the same name, Kahan’s fourth studio release, will be available on April 24.
