Harry Styles Setlist for One Night Only in Manchester

Let it be known: Harry is home. The hitmaker crowned the release of his fourth LP Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally with a One Night Only show at Manchester’s Co-op Live arena on Friday night (March 6), a short jaunt from Styles’ hometown of Holmes Chapel, Cheshire.

The sense of occasion was undeniable. Anyone who has followed Styles for much of his near-decade solo career certainly knew a bit of what to expect: one night of new music plus some greatest hits. It’s a ritual that Styles has returned to at each turning point of his journey, a way of marking a new era before the inevitable global takeover begins. Tickets were released via a ballot system and priced at £20 ($26.70), a modest sum considering the scale and spectacle of the event.

It’s been nearly three years since the 32-year-old icon mounted a full-length concert, so the lyrics of pulsing opener “Aperture” (“We belong together / It finally appears, it’s only love”) were received by the 23,500-strong crowd with waves of joyous singing. Notably, it was a phone-free show; without devices to distract them, fans were fully present, their voices rising together in a powerful, unbroken chorus. 

Having played more than 100 gigs a year in the mid-2010s with One Direction before leveling up to stadiums for his own Love On Tour, Styles has long been a seasoned entertainer, one that plays to the rafters, the packed floor and the onstage cameras equally. The show was recorded for a Netflix special, due for release this Sunday (March 8), which will also air in selected U.K. cinemas next week.

Styles will hit the road this summer for the Together, Together world tour, which kicks off May 16 at Amsterdam’s Johan Cruijff Arena, where he’ll open a multi‑night residency before heading to other key global cities, including 12 shows at London’s Wembley Stadium and a 30-night residency at New York City’s Madison Square Garden this fall.
