MAMA Ft Antonella announce New Single & Limited Edition CD – Greenlight Love (TAX THE RICH) – Sonic Weapon Mix
Two Zero Two Five was quite the year for MAMA Ft Antonella. This time last year she had just stepped off stage from her mesmerising and spine tingling debut live performance. Then, with no industry backing or PR budget, they (Antonella Gambotto-Burke & Gavin Monaghan) self-released the highly acclaimed debut album Apex Predators, one of the albums of 2025. They made the 2026 Grammy Awards longlist in two categories (Best New Artist & Best Rock Album) and the 2026 MPG Awards longlist in three categories (Album of the Year, Producer of the Year & Self-Producing Artist of the Year). Number One hits in the US indie charts (three consecutive weeks) and top 5 placements in the US and Canadian Indie Annual Charts. Anything else? Oh yeah, MAMA has also been approached by an 18-times Grammy Award-winning producer about future works.
So what of the new release?
Knee-deep into producing their second album, they decided to release an entirely unrelated side project: an EDM EP wrote in conjunction with Birmingham-based electronic artist/DJ Chris Budd.
This, the first single, a progressive house club mix that the current global lunacy inspired her to write.
The second single on the EP, Promised Land, was launched by BBC Orbit and BBC Introducing although it won’t be released until later this year. A UK tour with queer artist Esore Alle as main support is also planned.
Speaking with Antonella about the new single, she told me “I wrote Greenlight Love (TAX THE RICH) because I am sick and tired of seeing avarice, cruelty, and inequality institutionalised. Fuck cruelty. Fuck inequality. And, most of all, fuck Trump and everything he stands for.”
A limited run of first edition CDs will be launched today (April 24) exclusively through www.mamaftantonella.com Streaming platforms, a week later (May 1), and then a limited first-edition vinyl run!
Louder Than War is run by a small but dedicated independent team, and we rely on the small amount of money we generate to keep the site running smoothly. Any money we do get is not lining the pockets of oligarchs or mad-cap billionaires dictating what our journalists are allowed to think and write, or hungry shareholders. We know times are tough, and we want to continue bringing you news on the most interesting releases, the latest gigs and anything else that tickles our fancy. We are not driven by profit, just pure enthusiasm for a scene that each and every one of us is passionate about.
To us, music and culture are eveything, without them, our very souls shrivel and die. We do not charge artists for the exposure we give them and to many, what we do is absolutely vital.
