Watch This! Tiger Island unleash new video + album news

With a new single and an upcoming debut album, Tiger Island are ready to kick out the jams. Andy Brown joins the party for Louder Than War.

PRE-ORDER THE ALBUM ON BANDCAMP HERE

News! News! News! If you’re a fan of Tiger Island then get ready to fill your boots. Having released a “catchy, melodic and appropriately energetic” debut EP back in 2024, the band have signed to the proudly ethical and independent Reckless Yes label (Nervous Twitch/ LIINES/ Fightmilk) and announced news of their much-anticipated debut album, Let’s Go Out. Well, if you insist…

Unleashed on the 19th June, the band have described the album as: “a celebration of beautifully messy humanity, community and connection. If you’re tempted to stay home and scroll, this record will drag you off the sofa by your ankles, slap you round the face, stick you in an Uber and make sure you have the greatest night of your life.” It’s fair to say, you probably shouldn’t expect an album of ballads and easy listening.

To whet our appetites, the garage punk upstarts have offered up brand new single, Find Out Who You Are (And Do It On Purpose). With a title lovingly lifted from Dolly Parton, the single finally answers that eternal question: what do you get if you combine garage punk fire, power pop sensibilities and an inspirational quote from the Queen of Country? The answer? A damn good time! Honestly, I wouldn’t expect anything less.

All of this brilliance is accompanied by a video that finds the West Yorkshire-based five-piece riding a ghost train at a genuinely haunted site… or perhaps it’s just a cleverly disguised old Sainsbury’s unit on Bingley high street. Only Mystery Inc. and Egon Spengler know the truth. The Fin Costello shot video comes complete with handmade ghouls and spooktacular scenery – I mean, how much more DIY can you get?! Who said this rock ‘n’ roll lark can’t be fun? Go get ‘em Tigers!

A Plea From Louder Than War

Louder Than War is run by a small but dedicated independent team, and we rely on the small amount of money we generate to keep the site running smoothly. Any money we do get is not lining the pockets of oligarchs or mad-cap billionaires dictating what our journalists are allowed to think and write, or hungry shareholders. We know times are tough, and we want to continue bringing you news on the most interesting releases, the latest gigs and anything else that tickles our fancy. We are not driven by profit, just pure enthusiasm for a scene that each and every one of us is passionate about.

To us, music and culture are eveything, without them, our very souls shrivel and die. We do not charge artists for the exposure we give them and to many, what we do is absolutely vital. Subscribing to one of our paid tiers takes just a minute, and each sign-up makes a huge impact, helping to keep the flame of independent music burning! Please click the button below to help.
