Lady Gaga’s ‘MAYHEM Requiem’ Concert Film Release Date, How to Watch

Lady Gaga is formally putting her Mayhem era to rest with a new film featuring Gaga performing reinterpreted versions of songs from her lauded, Grammy-winning album. The project was filmed during a January Lady Gaga concert in Los Angeles.

Created in partnership with Apple Music, Apple Music Live: Lady Gaga MAYHEM Requiem will premiere on Apple Music on Thursday (May 14) at 8 p.m. PT. This premiere will be available to watch on Apple Music without a subscription, with the full performance and spatial audio live album then available anytime on-demand for Apple Music subscribers.

The film will also screen at 15 AMC theaters across the United States the same day, playing simultaneously with the premiere on the streamer.

Lady Gaga MAYHEM Requiem was filmed on Jan. 14 at Los Angeles’ 1,850-capacity Wiltern Theatre. The set for the show found the famed opera house Gaga erected for her lauded Mayhem Ball tour reduced to rubble, with Gaga playing a Phantom of the Opera-type during the show, performing reinterpreted versions of “Abracadabra,” “Disease,” “Die With a Smile” and the rest of the album. The film was produced by Morningview.

Lady Gaga performed the final shows of the global Mayhem Ball tour in April in New York, completing a year of shows performed across five continents. As Billboard reported in April, Gaga grossed $419.5 million and sold just under two million tickets with the Mayhem run, according to figures reported to Billboard Boxscore. These numbers make the trek the highest grossing tour of Gaga’s career and one of the 10 highest grossing pop tours of all time.
