Ariana Grande’s Eternal Sunshine Tour: Dream Setlist

Naturally, the show begins with the intro track from the tour’s namesake album. We’re envisioning Ari standing in ethereal greenery (like her “Imperfect for You” SNL set), gripping a microphone stand under a single spotlight. To up the drama, let’s incorporate the verse from the extended intro, which will allow the stirring strings to transition into the fairytale feel of “Shut Up.”

This may be the Eternal Sunshine Tour, but Positions demands some love! Ariana’s R&B-leaning 2020 album houses some of her greatest tracks, and it hasn’t had the opportunity to be celebrated on a tour. If we’re going to show love to the Eternal Sunshine intro, then “Shut Up” deserves some time in the spotlight as well. Here, Ariana should spend this song slowly walking down the center catwalk, taking some time to wave to fans and point out figurative haters, before reaching the end to begin the next song.

After a brief reprieve to celebrate Positions, we’re back in the world of Eternal Sunshine with “Bye,” the first full-length song from Ari’s seventh studio album. Here, the focus will be crowd interaction and big vocals, with small bursts of choreography that foreshadow the more dance-forward renditions of the next two songs.

As the outro of “Bye” transitions into the opening riffs of “The Boy Is Mine,” a backup dancer will hand her a Catwoman mask that she’ll later trade for a 2026 version of the Dangerous Woman bunny ears. But before we get to that moment — the crowd will gag, just go with it — Ariana will run through “The Boy Is Mine,” preferably bringing out Brandy and Monica for one of her three shows at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena (July 6-9).

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! For “Yes, And?” — the closer to the tour’s first section — Ariana will recreate the music video’s choreography, delivering clean lines and crisp turns before jumping into the more vocally demanding uptempos in the next session.

Let’s bring the more uplifting vibes into act two, which kicks off with “Be Alright.” Ari has hinted at wanting to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Dangerous Woman, and “Be Alright” is a perfect fit for a hit of optimism and dopamine. The pop star performed the track on her 2019 Sweetener World Tour, and it’s back again. 

Ariana and Doja Cat linked up for their first collaboration with the electro-house banger “Motive,” which landed on Positions in 2020. This will keep the dance party going in arenas across North America. Here’s to manifesting another Doja and Ari link-up on Petal. 

Ariana Grande, the magician that you are. We’re going to lower the volume with a softer sing-along to move through section two, and “Just Like Magic” feels like the right fit connecting the uptempo energy of “Motive” and “Into You.” One of the more slept on Positions deep cuts from Ari’s arsenal. 

When Ariana and Max Martin connect, magic ensues. 10 years later, “Into You” has aged like fine wine and the dance-pop banger is a bona fide gem in Ari’s catalog. There’s no dream setlist without it being included. Looking back, its No. 13 peak on the Billboard Hot 100 feels a bit underwhelming compared to her bigger hits. 

Let’s show Eternal Sunshine some love. Things get “Supernatural,” which should have stood alongside “Yes, And” and “We Can’t Be Friends” as the smash hits of Grande’s 2024 album. Perhaps it could get a second wind on tour after popping up as part of a viral TikTok trend last year. 

This section reaches a crescendo and closes with a thunderous vocal performance of “God Is a Woman” from Ari, showing off her four-octave range. The Sweetener single reached the Billboard Hot 100’s top 10 and topped the Pop Airplay chart. The sudsy yet celestial music video is epic, but we can do without the screeching gophers on tour.

On the Eternal Sunshine tracklist, “Saturn Returns Interlude” represents Grande finally realigning with her true self and remembering what’s most important to her. That makes it the perfect interlude to play during the live show as the set transitions into its most introspective act.

“Needy” will kick off what we’re calling the sad-but-sexy section of the tour. And how could we leave out the song that gave us the hilarious audience call-and-response chants that made the k, bye for now live album so memorable? She’ll perform this sound crouched down close to the crowd, slowly making her way to a makeshift home recording studio to begin belting out “Eternal Sunshine.”

From “One Last Time” to Sweetener to thank u, next — Ariana has consistently shown the world that her healing journey begins in the recording booth. So, what better way to mount a performance of her tour’s titular song than to recreate a solo studio session with an “Eternal Sunshine” arrangement that brings back her Honeymoon Tour-era Mi.Mu gloves?

Now, here’s a throwback! “Thinking Bout You” is an overlooked gem tucked away in the back half of Dangerous Woman — and since this year marks the 10th anniversary of the album, let’s celebrate with this addition to the Eternal Sunshine setlist. When she hits that belt on, “But at least I have the memory” in the bridge, expect an intergalactic light show to illuminate the arena, perfectly setting the stage for the spaced-out feel of “Twilight Zone.”

This hit single from the Brighter Days Ahead edition of Eternal Sunshine simply can’t be excluded from this tour. More importantly, this gives Ariana a bit of a breather and a built-in sing-along moment before the all-out vocal showcase that closes this introspective, but slightly horny, section.

We’ll remain in Eternal Sunshine territory with “Past Life,” which will find Ari belting behind a mic stand while two contemporary dancers — one male and one female — execute intricate partner work that translates the song’s wistful lyrics into movement. By the climax, she’ll return to the center of the catwalk, remaining there to close this section.

Ariana and guitarist Johnny “Natural” Najera made history with the Sweetner World Tour version of “Breathin,” so we’re bringing it back for the Eternal Sunshine Tour. This time, expect gutsier vocal runs and an even more thrilling guitar solo to keep the energy up and deliver a moment of catharsis before the next, relatively lighter, section.

Get ready, folks. It’s time to ditch our feels for now and get sexy, period. After the previous run of emotionally complex, reflective tunes, it would be great to see Grande pivot to a section of her show that’s more carefree, flirty and sensual — which, naturally, includes a lot of Positions. First up is “34+35,” an uptempo, lyrically explicit track about the joys of getting down and dirty with the person you love, which we’d love to see paired with brightly colored visuals and one of the bigger choreography breaks in the show.

“My Hair” keeps the sultry vibes flowing while giving Grande moment to park behind a mic stand and belt her face off. The star is known for her signature ponytail, so it’d be great to see that represented in the visuals somehow — imagine an army of disembodied updos swinging to the beat on screen behind her — while she treats the audience to two minutes and 30 seconds of smooth, soulful R&B heaven.

A three-song run of Positions‘ sexiest songs has to be rounded out by the extremely NSFW “Nasty,” picking the pacing back up again after slowing slightly for the previous track. What you waiting for?

Staying on the theme of overwhelming attraction, “Everytime” from Sweetener at this point in the show would keep fans smiling and bopping along as Grande sings her all-too-relatable ode to coming back again and again when the chemistry is just too strong to resist. Though not necessarily her biggest commercial hit, “Everytime” has previously made for an energetic high point in the pop star’s set — especially as she closes out the song wailing out some of her highest belted riffs.

As we reach the midpoint of the show, it’s time to take a moment for the classics. “Tattooed Heart” from Yours Truly would slow things back down while building off of the flirtatiousness of the previous number. If Grande has a disco ball as part of her stage design, now is when it should descend and set the vibes for a retro high-school slow-dance moment.

Grande immediately jumping into “The Way” — her debut single, featuring the late Mac Miller — would make for an epic one-two Yours Truly punch, as well as a high-energy closer to this feel-good section of her set.

We know it’s a long shot that Grande will ever again sing Mac Miller’s “My Favorite Part,” on which she guested in 2016. But as she briefly leaves the stage, possibly to change while the crew resets for a new portion of the show, it would be lovely to hear an instrumental version of the fan-favorite duet, especially immediately after her performance of “The Way.”

G(a)linda is back, baby! AG historians know the Oscar-nominated actress interpolated “Popular,” the song she later performed in the 2024 film adaptation of Wicked, on a track of the same name from Yours Truly, her 2013 debut studio album. While a full-scale Wicked section likely won’t happen (apologies to the musical theater enthusiasts out there!), a mashup between the Broadway and Yours Truly versions to lead into a medley of her biggest Hot 100 smashes just feels right. And wouldn’t it be dope if she brought out MIKA at one of her O2 Arena shows in London?

Seven years of “7 Rings.” Oozing with unbridled opulence, the braggadocious single debuted atop the Billboard Hot 100 in 2019 and is now certified diamond by the RIAA. This section sparks a run of absolute bangers from Ari’s catalog, which seemingly has an endless supply in the pop star’s robust catalog. We just hope ticket prices aren’t looking like phone numbers this summer. 

It’s only right that “7 Rings” connects with “Thank U, Next” as the defining tracks of the Thank U, Next era and bring fans right back to the end of the 2010s. What served as the Sweetener World Tour encore bumps up into this smash-filled act. Keep the confetti falling and dopamine flowing as Ari bids farewell to her exes in celebratory fashion. Let’s see what revamped choreo she has in store. 

“One Last Time,” the hit that you are. While many of the My Everything anthems were left on the cutting room floor for this setlist, “One Last Time” just can’t go away, and continues to stand the test of time for Arianators. The motivational dance-pop banger keeps the energy up and serves as a perfect liaison into the second half of the uptempo act. 

Unfortunately, there’s speculation that “Break Free” won’t be making the cut on Ari’s Eternal Sunshine Tour’s setlist, but our dreams can’t be killed. The Zedd-produced anthem effuses a joy that fans can feel down to the bits of their stomachs, and we’re not letting go of the rope just yet. The top five Billboard Hot 100 hit found Ari veering into the EDM-pop lane in the mid-2010s, and the versatile pop star showed she could dominate that too. Bring those rainbow confetti cannons back out here.  

Going “No Tears Left to Cry” to close out the hits section allows Ari to share a heartfelt moment with her fans while performing one of her biggest songs of the last decade. Following the Manchester Arena bombing in 2017, “No Tears Left to Cry” was the first song she wrote alongside Max Martin, and there’s no Eternal Sunshine Tour without having her share that sentimental connection with the Arianators. It was just a matter of when would be the perfect time, and this seems right. 

After a sprint through some of Grande’s biggest arena-rousing smashes from past eras, we want to see her wind down the show with one last pensive section that focuses on the personal growth she captured on Eternal Sunshine. “Hampstead” is the perfect song to kick off the final chapter of the show, starting out slow and delicate before transitioning into a swooping chorus that’ll get the entire venue singing along.

After songs about breaking up, making up, calling it quits for good and moving on to a new love, “I Wish I Hated You” — similar to its position toward the end of the Eternal Sunshine tracklist — would be a perfect final wave goodbye to the heartbreak that inspired Grande’s seventh album.

Of course, Eternal Sunshine also heavily focused on new love blossoming out of the aforementioned heartbreak, which means we have to close out on a little bit of romance, too. Though not an Eternal Sunshine selection, Positions track “POV” is one of Grande’s most gorgeous love songs to date, and it would transition almost too perfectly into the penultimate number on our setlist.

“Imperfect for You” is about how real love makes all of one’s past hardships worth it — a reminder we’ll all need after the emotional roller coaster of Grande’s show.

The official final number of Grande’s show (not including the encore) should be a huge, high-energy hit that fills up the entire venue and gets everyone in the room dancing again. Arguably the thesis statement of Eternal Sunshine, “We Can’t Be Friends” fits that bill perfectly, with the electro-pop magic of Max Martin packed into every momentous synth and drumbeat on this Billboard Hot 100-topper.

Now’s the time for the flashiest light show of the entire set — we want to see the stage and crowd shimmer, sparkle and strobe different colors as Grande goes for her big finish.

And we’ve made it to the end! Yes, this tour is named after Eternal Sunshine and will coincide with the release of Petal, but there are two more important truths. First, it’s the 10-year anniversary of Dangerous Woman, and second (and most importantly), Positions will always get the last laugh.

For the encore, we’ll start with “Dangerous Woman” and keep it classic: gravity-defying vocals, dizzying riffs and runs, and a live arrangement that fully leans into the song’s rock influences. After tearing the roof off the arena and leaving the audience screaming with whatever’s left of their voices, Ariana will saunter off the stage for a brief moment and final outfit change. When she re-emerges, she’ll slowly strut to the center of the catwalk to a loop machine, where she’ll build the intro of “Positions” live (just like her 2021 VEVO live performances) before officially closing the show with a triumphant rendition of her No. 1 hit, complete with confetti galore.
