Motionless in White lands its second No. 1 in a row on Billboard’s Hot Hard Rock Songs chart, scoring the top spot on the May 23-dated list with “Playing God.”

The song, which features vocals from Corey Taylor of Slipknot and Stone Sour, drew 1.4 million chart-eligible streams and sold 1,000 in the United States in the week ending May 14, according to Luminate.

The May 8-14 tracking period marked the song’s first full week of data toward the Billboard charts; it accumulated 515,000 streams and 1,000 sold for the May 16 charts via two days of tracking after its May 6 release.

Motionless in White previously led Hot Hard Rock Songs with “Afraid of the Dark” for two nonconsecutive weeks in February and March. It currently ranks at No. 4 (1.2 million streams).

As for Taylor, “Playing God” marks his first solo No. 1 on Hot Hard Rock Songs, which began in 2020, surpassing the No. 7 peak of “Black Eyes Blue” that year. Slipknot has one earned leader: “The Chapeltown Rag” in 2021.

“Playing God” is the second song released from Decades, Motionless in White’s upcoming seventh studio album. Announced alongside the release of “Playing God,” the set is due July 17. The 12-track album includes a cover of Corey Hart’s 1980s classic “Sunglasses at Night,” while Skylar Grey and Anthony Martinez join Taylor as featured acts.

Motionless in White’s most recent LP, 2022’s Scoring the End of the World, debuted at No. 1 on the Top Hard Rock Albums chart and has earned 434,000 equivalent album units to date.
