ARMY got the first taste of BTS‘ upcoming two full-length concert films on Wednesday (Feb. 25) when the trailer for BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’ LIVE VIEWING dropped. The 30-second trailer set to the bouncy “Mic Drop” from 2018’s Love Yourself: Answer album opens with the band’s iconic logo flickering on the screen before the full title pops up in bold white lettering.
We then get our first glimpse of the septet on stage as they ask ARMY to “make some noise!” and an on-screen prompt encourages fans to “join BTS live in cinemas around the world.” The camera then pans to RM, Suga, Jin, j-hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook on stage hyping sold-out stadiums as huge fireworks displays erupt behind them and concertgoers wave around their light-up ARMY Bombs, which flash and pulse in sync to the music.
The wordless trailer ends with a shot of the group from behind and a zoom-out drone image of a giant, lit-up stadium from above. The two screenings will feature a live airing of one of BTS’ three kick-off shows in Goyang, South Korea (April 11), followed by a broadcast of the April 18 stop in Tokyo in support of their upcoming fifth studio album, Arirang, due out on March 20.
Tickets and screening details for each territory are available here, with screening times varying by territory and each territory scheduled to screen each concert twice. The film will air in more than 3,800 locations in 80 territories. Further live viewings are planned for later this year with details to be announced at a future date.
According to a release, the two broadcasts from the band’s anticipated return to the stage for their first tour together since their 2021-2022 Permission to Dance on Stage outing will showcase “the tour’s spectacular, immersive, 360-degree in-the-round stage design, placing cinema audiences at the center of the comeback of the decade.”
