Life goes on after BTS‘ comeback concert in Seoul, but the members will always look back fondly on the performance.
In posts on Weverse after the show, the boy band’s members shared messages thanking ARMY for supporting the March 21 performance, and emphasizing how happy they’re feeling now that it’s in the books. In one joint statement uploaded to RM’s profile, the group wrote, “Hello, this is BTS. After four long years of waiting, the seven members gathered again and faced you in a meaningful space called Gwanghwamun.”
“[We] would like to thank everyone for their generous consideration and support so that our return stage can be completed safely,” it continued, according to the site’s English translation, shouting out the “police, firefighters, the government and local governments” who “worked hard to make it a safe performance without any major accidents in the midst of large crowds.”
The Bangtan Boys also expressed “sincere apologies and thank you to the citizens who endured the inconveniences, such as traffic control and noise, as well as to the merchants and office workers in Gwanghwamun area.”
“We will never take for granted the warm consideration for our performance with a broad heart and keep it in our hearts for a long time,” the statement added. “And most of all, our dear ARMY who is all and proud of us! Thank you so much for trusting and waiting for us for a long time … As always, you are our greatest pride.”
The post comes shortly after the bandmates held their first full-group concert in years at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul, performing as a unit in honor of their new album, ARIRANG, which dropped Friday (March 20). Some of the members also shared post-show messages to their individual Weverse profiles, such as Jimin, who wrote, “Yesterday was an unforgettable day thanks to ARMY.”
“I was so happy to finally show you the album and performance,” added the K-pop star. “There are still a lot of contents, so please look forward to it!!”
Jin shared a photo of himself on a plane and said, “ARMY, did you enjoy our comeback show yesterday With the help of many people, we made a comeback safely! I would like to say thank you again to the many people who helped me!”
J-hope also shared a plane selfie and wrote, “I’ll be back safely!!!! Thank you always and I love you!!!”
Now that the comeback show has wrapped, BTS will travel to the United States to continue with the rollout of ARIRANG. After answering fan questions and performing at a Spotify event in New York City, the septet will appear on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
ARIRANG marks BTS’ first full-length since 2020’s Be, which topped the Billboard 200. In the years since, the members have pursued solo projects while also completing their enlistment periods in the South Korean military.
