Nazi TeethDead Pioneers: Nazi Teeth

(Hassle)

Unequivocal and hard hitting, the latest Dead Pioneers single carries on where the previous two albums left off, ahead of UK dates at the end of the month. Nathan Brown gets excited.

At Louderthanwar we love it when there is a new Dead Pioneers release. We also love songs about fighting fascists, and right now Amerikkka seems to have more fascists to fight than ever before (or were they just hiding in plain sight?).

Nazi Teeth picks up where Dead Pioneers left off after two albums, Po$t American being voted Louder Than War’s Album Of The Year for 2025. Musically they have not deviated from their now familiar mix of chugging post-punk rhythms and driving hardcore overlaid with Gregg Deal’s matter of fact delivery of on point lyrics. On this occasion he is assisted by Stephanie Byrne from Colorado feminist punk band Cheap Perfume, ratcheting up the tension.

Shane Zweygardt’s drums pound out heavy beats and bass from Lee Tesche provides a deep backbone. Guitars from Josh Rivera and Abe Brennan bounce off each other with a hint of Fugazi or maybe even Killing Joke seeping out. What’s not to love?

Lyrically, the title and graphic are a give away. A welcome message in desperate times. That message is unequivocal. Listen

In case there are any liberals reading this clutching their pearls at the thought of the master race’s pearly whites lying on the ground, Stephanie Byrne has this to say:
“We are witnessing in real time the violent and horrifying overextension of this administration, while many of our brothers and sisters have been suffering at the hands of white supremacy and colonialism for generations. Nazi teeth is a call to action to hold the line with your friends, family, and community. Keeping Nazis down keeps us all free.”

Meanwhile Gregg Deal gives more detail on the question of violence:
“The United States of Amerikkka is in disarray, and ‘Nazi Teeth’ is not just our answer to what we’re seeing and experiencing in the streets of the so-called land of the free, but a call to action, fighting the continuing manifestation of forces our grandparents and great grandparents fought some 81-plus years ago. It should be obvious, but for some people it seems this needs spelling out: Fuck Nazis, Fuck Fascism, Fuck ICE, Fuck Pedos, and Fuck Trump and his administration.”. He then adds the words shouted by Stephanie to close the song: “If violence is the only language they speak, it’s okay to punch Nazi teeth.”

This digital single’s release is perfectly timed to get you in the mood for their UK and EU tour dates. I caught them last time they were over. Don’t miss out!

A Plea From Louder Than War

Louder Than War is run by a small but dedicated independent team, and we rely on the small amount of money we generate to keep the site running smoothly. Any money we do get is not lining the pockets of oligarchs or mad-cap billionaires dictating what our journalists are allowed to think and write, or hungry shareholders. We know times are tough, and we want to continue bringing you news on the most interesting releases, the latest gigs and anything else that tickles our fancy. We are not driven by profit, just pure enthusiasm for a scene that each and every one of us is passionate about.

To us, music and culture are eveything, without them, our very souls shrivel and die. We do not charge artists for the exposure we give them and to many, what we do is absolutely vital. Subscribing to one of our paid tiers takes just a minute, and each sign-up makes a huge impact, helping to keep the flame of independent music burning! Please click the button below to help.
