The third season of Euphoria will receive a special premiere screening at Coachella, the HBO series has announced.
Returning to screens for the first time since 2022, the cast of the hit show are no longer in high school and traverse the various issues of adult life, including Rue (Zendaya) getting in trouble with the law. The season is set to premiere on Sunday April 12 on HBO Max (plus Sky Atlantic and NOW in the UK), but will have a special screening on the same day at the California festival.
Following the conclusion of the final performance on Sunday (April 12), the first episode of season three will begin playing at 11:59 p.m. PT at the Coachella Campgrounds. Festival wristbands are required for entry to the screening, available on a first-come, first-serve basis. While films have screened at the festival before, this will be the first time a TV show has done so.
The series’ Instagram account made the announcement with the caption “see you in the desert”, with a clip of a car speeding across a barren landscape.
The trailer prompted mixed reactions from the fans, with the extreme tonal shift leading some to compare it to the computer game Grand Theft Auto. Zendaya also hinted that this season may be the last, during an interview promoting the show.
Coachella begins today (Friday April 10), with the festival returning to its usual spot in the desert in Indio, California, and will happen across two weekends. The second weekend is set to take place on April 17, 18 and 19.
Sabrina Carpenter, Justin Bieber, and Karol G will headline each day of the festival, with other confirmed acts including Jack White, Turnstile, and The Strokes. Click here for all the festival’s set and stage times, livestream schedule and how to watch.
