Lil Wayne got caught up in the heat of battle when his Green Bay Packers blew an 18-point lead to the rival Chicago Bears on Jan. 10 in the NFL Playoffs.
Weezy referred to Bears quarterback Caleb Williams as a “n—a w purple nails” on X that night, as he couldn’t believe his Packers’ choke job. However, a few days later, cooler heads prevailed and the New Orleans rap legend showed love to Williams on X on Wednesday (Jan. 14).
“Ay Caleb don’t mind me bruh I’m just a cheesehead 4life & u just a killa & ya kilt us bad each time & 4 dat u get da praise gesture from me,” he wrote. “I luh da game & it’d b impossible 2make dat statement without acknowledging & admiring yo game king! U a beast but ya still a bear.”

Williams and the Bears outscored their rivals 25-6 to win the Wildcard matchup 31-27 in thrilling fashion. The quarterback finished with 361 yards passing and two touchdowns along with two interceptions while engineering a comeback for the ages against the Packers.
Wayne’s original comments following the loss have compiled over 78,000 likes on X. “We just loss a playoff game to a n—a w purple nails we fkn suk bear azz,” a frustrated Wayne vented. “Bare a—!!! We don’t deserve to be in the playoffs. Straight like that.”
Lyrical Lemonade‘s Cole Bennett, who’s a massive Bears fan, appeared to be disappointed in Wayne’s comments. “Damn Wayne I love you but it’s time to get off the internet after this one. Bear down,” he responded to Weezy’s post.
Williams wasn’t thrown off by Wayne’s comments, as he originally replied with a “#DABEARS” following the comeback victory.
The Bears will look to continue their magical run while welcoming the Los Angeles Rams to Soldier Field on Sunday (Jan. 18). As for Lil Wayne, his Packers will look to regroup for next season.
