Nervous Twitch Announce Part Time Punks 2026 All Dayer

Part Time Punks, the Leeds based all-day event curated by Nervous Twitch, is back for its fifth year, taking place on Saturday 6th June at Wharf Chambers.

As with the past four years, it’s a day celebrating DIY indie-pop, punk, new wave, and everything in-between, with bands from 2.30pm until 11pm. Advance tickets remain just £14 (plus booking fee) from Jumbo Records here or £18 on the day.

We’ve said it before, but Part Time Punks is like the ultimate youth club (for adults), with all the quirky kids with the best T-shirts and record collections hanging around together as hand-picked acts vie to be your favourite new band. Over the years, bands who have graced the Part Time Punks stage include The Dirt, The Red Stains, DiabloFurs, IDORIS, Broken Down Golf Cart, Pete Bentham And The Dinner Ladies, Breakup Haircut, Tits-Up and Ming City Rockers. Last year the line up included Palooka 5, Rats! Rats! Rats!, SHANK And The SHIVS, The Wind-up Birds, Glimmerpit, Dead Mint, and Boggis Fringe. You can read Andy and Jim’s review here.

Each year also includes a set by the hosts, Nervous Twitch, the trio of Erin Hyde, Jay Churchley and Chris Cooper, who we expect this year will be still be celebrating their recent album, The Day Job Gets in the Way.

As well as the hosts, also performing this year at Part Time Punks are Ceiling Demons, Litterbug, Rrrapid-Kool, i-nichi, Indignation Meeting, Quick Romance, and Silver Biplanes.

To add a little more colour to the line-up, Ceiling Demons are an art-rap/spoken word band from Richmond, North Yorkshire. Influenced by the likes of Kae Tempest, Nick Cave, and Tricky, twin brothers Psy Ceiling and Dan Demon deliver poetic lyrics over diverse instrumentals—from acoustic to experimental. Their intense, chaotic performances explore love, loss, and mental health. Meanwhile, Litterbug have been described as too alternative for punk, the thinking man’s punk band, the Blackpool Buzzcocks, and also a band that’s “hard to understand what they are trying to do.” Amongst their albums is one titled It’s Punk Rock Jim But Not As We Know It, which is worth checking out for that alone.

Rrrapid-Kool are an indie rock band mixing up garage rock frills and lo-fi thrills for your delectation. The band includes former members of Beachbuggy, The Wedding Present, Cha Cha Cohen and Coney Island Cyclone. Little has been written about them but their pedigree shines. i-nichi is Tokyo-based singer and songwriter Seiko Nemoto, with Wessex-based musicians Billy Shinbone, Philip Collings and Ben Scott Turner joining her to form a full band. Seiko’s unique take on songwriting, coupled with a love of Captain Beefheart, Gang Of Four, Devo and early UK prog rock manifested itself with a full album in September 2025.

Indignation Meeting are a multi-generational band from Leeds, led by teenage singing drummer Peter, who writes catchy songs with witty lyrics mostly about railways. They formed just over four years ago and have two albums out on Damaged Goods Records. Quick Romance are described as the bass line from The Rezillos’ Flying Saucer Attack married to the vocal line from X-Ray Spex’s Oh Bondage, Up Yours!, with The Shangri-Las as bridesmaids. Singer, Matilda Scotland and her bandmates are real mean teens, in love with clothes, music and Brian Jones’s hair.

Finally, Silver Biplanes are an eclectic mix of post-punk, psychedelia, krautrock and indie pop from the UK and feature former members of Razorcuts and The Melons.

Part Time Punks is always a great, relaxed day out and a chance to check out some great live music. The venue, Wharf Chambers, is a members’ club so you need to be a member, or guest of a member, in order to attend. To join, please visit the website. Membership costs £2 and requires a minimum of 48 hours to take effect.

Advance tickets for Part Time Punks cost £14 (plus booking fee) and are available from Jumbo Records here. Entry will be £18 on the door.

A Plea From Louder Than War

Louder Than War is run by a small but dedicated independent team, and we rely on the small amount of money we generate to keep the site running smoothly. Any money we do get is not lining the pockets of oligarchs or mad-cap billionaires dictating what our journalists are allowed to think and write, or hungry shareholders. We know times are tough, and we want to continue bringing you news on the most interesting releases, the latest gigs and anything else that tickles our fancy. We are not driven by profit, just pure enthusiasm for a scene that each and every one of us is passionate about.

To us, music and culture are eveything, without them, our very souls shrivel and die. We do not charge artists for the exposure we give them and to many, what we do is absolutely vital. Subscribing to one of our paid tiers takes just a minute, and each sign-up makes a huge impact, helping to keep the flame of independent music burning! Please click the button below to help.
