One of my tips of the year Oh Doom! are back with another stunning single that builds into crunching guitars that go off the scale, blended with haunting vocals and exemplary drumming throughout. A great cinematic gothic shoegaze tune to whet your appetite before their debut album later this year. Read on…
Blending elements of post-rock, shoegaze, and post-hardcore, the track showcases the band’s mastery of melancholic melodies and delicate arpeggios, juxtaposed with crushing, ever-building heaviness.
How To Destroy Anything is about how not sharing your worries will eventually destroy all the good things in your life—the things we often take for granted.
This is the band’s third single from their 2025 session with dark, electronic music producer Cresil (James Mitchell). The release was delayed because James was sadly struck down with Ménière’s disease (a chronic inner ear disorder causing bouts of severe vertigo, hearing loss, and tinnitus) during mixing. Once recovered enough, he could complete the song. Unfortunately, the band may never be able to record with him again due to his illness.
How To Destroy Anything was mastered by a friend of the band, Dan Aarons.
The single’s linocut artwork and video were made by the band’s drummer and keyboard player, Shaun. Some say he can do anything. The video also features footage created by award-winning architectural designer and friend, Chantal Matar.

A Plea From Louder Than War
Louder Than War is run by a small but dedicated independent team, and we rely on the small amount of money we generate to keep the site running smoothly. Any money we do get is not lining the pockets of oligarchs or mad-cap billionaires dictating what our journalists are allowed to think and write, or hungry shareholders. We know times are tough, and we want to continue bringing you news on the most interesting releases, the latest gigs and anything else that tickles our fancy. We are not driven by profit, just pure enthusiasm for a scene that each and every one of us is passionate about.
To us, music and culture are eveything, without them, our very souls shrivel and die. We do not charge artists for the exposure we give them and to many, what we do is absolutely vital. Subscribing to one of our paid tiers takes just a minute, and each sign-up makes a huge impact, helping to keep the flame of independent music burning! Please click the button below to help.
