TikTok taps Charli xcx for an in-app “Wuthering Heights” experience featuring the star’s soundtrack to Emerald Fennell’s film adaptation.
With the debut of Emerald Fennell’s “Wuthering Heights” film over the weekend, clips are already flooding TikTok—especially those featuring Charli xcx’s soundtrack. To capitalize on that buzz, TikTok has launched an in-app “Wuthering Heights” hub featuring the BRAT Brit herself, gathering official film clips, trending sounds, and more fan-made content.
TikTok also revealed some stats related to the film’s impact on trending searches, with those related to Charli xcx up 41% since last week. Her collaboration with John Cale, “House,” which appears on the soundtrack, topped TikTok’s U.S. Top 50 last week, with 5.6 billion views and 1.6 million fan creations.
“TikTok is where fans discover and engage with music at the speed of culture, and Charli xcx’s Wuthering Heights is a perfect example of that momentum in action,” said TikTok UK’s head of Artist Partnerships Lisa Skeppner. “From Charli’s new music to the resurgence of classic tracks, the community is already telling their own stories around the film. The album hub is designed to celebrate that creativity and give fans a front-row seat to the entire era as it unfolds.”
Fans who want to get into the action can find music from the album, official videos, fan creations, and more on TikTok by searching “Charli xcx Wuthering Heights.”
Meanwhile, although Kate Bush’s classic track “Wuthering Heights” isn’t featured on the film’s soundtrack, the aptly titled song is seeing a major upswing—a 68% week-on-week increase in TikTok creations that feature it.
In other Charli xcx news, the star recently released a mockumentary film, The Moment, that shows her preparing for a large stadium gig during her 2024 BRAT album release. A limited run from A24 started in the U.S. on January 30, raking in an impressive $427,940. That’s the third-highest limited opening for an A24 film since the pandemic. The film will be released via Universal Pictures International in several territories, including the UK, where it will debut this Friday, February 20.
