I scream, you scream, we all scream for “Ice Cream.” The music video for BLACKPINK and Selena Gomez‘s 2020 single “Ice Cream” has reached one billion views on YouTube. The track is the K-pop group’s eighth to achieve this feat and Gomez’s fourth.
The colorful “Ice Cream” music video features the four members of BLACKPINK — LISA, JENNIE, JISOO and ROSÉ — and Gomez in a retro dreamscape. Clad in a series of vibrants looks, the five singers dance around in a range of settings including a massive pink balloon pit and inflatable bounce houses. Of course, there’s plenty of ice cream to go around as Gomez pulls up in an ice cream truck and at one point, the BLACKPINK members dance in an ice cream parlor with cones in hand.
“Ice Cream” is the second single off of BLACKPINK’s debut studio album The Album. The track spent eight weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, where it peaked at No. 13, and 14 weeks on the Billboard Global 200, where it peaked at No. 8. The Album debuted and peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, and spent 26 total weeks on the chart.
Since the group’s 2016 debut with their single album Square One, BLACKPINK has become one of the most recognized names in K-pop. The girl group has landed 11 songs on the Hot 100, and second studio album, Born Pink, surpassed their first on the Billboard 200, topping the chart. All four of BLACKPINK’s members have also released successful solo music with each one having at least one Hot 100 hit.
With its billion views on YouTube, “Ice Cream” follows in the footsteps of seven other BLACKPINK singles including “Pink Venom” and “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du,” which crossed the billion view threshold not once but twice. For Gomez, the track joins “Come & Get It,” “Calm Down” (with Rema) and “We Don’t Talk Anymore” by Charlie Puth featuring Gomez.
