Galantis, the longstanding dance project from Swedish producer Christian Karlsson, has found a new home with the Ninja Tune imprint Counter Records.

Galantis’ first release on Counter is “Stay Alive,” a breezy and emotive electronic version of José Gonzalez‘s 2013 classic “Stay Alive,” which itself was co-written by Ryan Adams. Out today (May 27), the single is Galantis’ first project with The Devil’s Tax Return, a new era of Galantis which Karlsson himself says serves as “an ode to the music that always inspired me.” Watch the video for the single below.

”Signing with Ninja Tune imprint Counter Records feels incredibly special to me,” Karlsson tells Billboard. “Ninja Tune is a label I’ve admired since the ‘90s and to be part of that family with Galantis feels like coming home to music that shaped me. This is also the first time in my career that I’m not signed to a major label, and it’s completely changed the way I create music. I feel a freedom and inspiration I haven’t felt in a long time, it reminds me why I fell in love with making music in the first place.”

The most recent Galantis album, 2024’s Rx, was released on Atlantic subsidiary Big Beat Records, with much of the act’s prior output released on Atlantic itself.

Galantis has summer tour dates extending into the fall, with performances of his ongoing Midsommar show set for San Francisco in June and Chicago in August. Beyond that, Galantis will play festivals including Michigan’s Electric Forest and Toronto’s Veld Music Festival, along with club shows in Charleston, S.C., Miami, St. Louis and beyond.
